Hi All,
I thought you might want to know about the following:
I was surfing to see if AltaVista had listed my Young Poets page and
the 2nd link that came up was a site with the same name. When I
checked it out it was blatantly advertising Hard Core Porn--this site
was obviously designed to lead little kids into Hard Core Porn (and
that AV search page was sponsored by a "protect our kids"
organization too). I wrote AV and informed them of this and their
response was:

Dear AltaVista Customer,
Because Alta Vista searches and indexes the entire Web, it will find any URL
connected to the main body of the Web through even one link. Alta Vista is
only an index, however, and is not responsible for the millions of pages that
it covers.
If you have a problem with a particular page, you need to contact the
Webmaster of that page.
Regards,
AltaVista Support Team

Yeah, like I want to contact a Hard Core Porn Web designer who will
probably sell my email to a multitude of pornies. I get enough "junk"
mail as it is.
Harrumph!!
I think I'll just quit using Altavista for my searches.
Lori
